You’ll find Decca Bar on Queen Street just down from the junction with Collins Street.  The venue is now closed whilst the landlord does refurbishment work to the buidling. So it is rent free at the moment and will continue to be so to at least September 1st.

Heading down the steps from Queen Street you enter straight in to the main bar area.  The bar itself is in a V shape to give maximum bar space to clients without impacting on the overall size of the venue.  To the right of the stairs there is a lounge area that can be sectioned off if required. Walking through past the bar you enter the square dance floor with the DJ booth directly in front of you.  To the rear of the DJ booth there is the entrance to the fully equipped kitchen.  The latter has not been used for many years though and everything will need to be checked. Over all the venue is not in the best of condition and will need a complete refit, hence the price.

This is one of the few remaining late night 5am licences left in the CBD, and has a large capacity of 169. Rent and outgoings comes in at $2100 a week and the lease is two years in to a ten year final term.  The landlord is open to adding extra terms upon negotiation or a brand new lease.

This venue has huge potential not only for the first time owner operator but also for venues that wish to expand their nights and/or cater for different markets. The venue is being sold on a walk in walk out basis with no books.  The vendor is looking for a price in the region of $50,000.  The vendor is looking to sell the venue prior to the rent free period finishing so that it does not have to reopen.
